DARG 12/10/22: Yan Chen on ‘Repetition in Chinese Criminal Trials’

The session will be presented by Yan Chen from Loughborough University. The session is titled “Repetition in Chinese Criminal Trials“
“With the data, I mainly look at the repetition of defendants’ responses by the questioners in Chinese criminal trials. I am also interested in comparing the repetition by different questioners (judges, prosecutors, and defence lawyers) and the interaction dynamics in the sequences where different questioners’ repetition is involved. So I have prepared two extracts. Extract 1 is part of the questioning by a prosecutor and a defence lawyer in one trial. Extract 2 is the questioning by a judge in a different trial.”
