DARG session: Paul McIlvenny & DOTE

Wednesday at DARG, 13:00-14:30 UK time, there will be a hybrid (in-person and online) demonstration hosted in room B114 (Brockington Building, Loughborough University) or join us on Zoom.

The session will be presented by Paul McIlvenny and Jacob Davidsen . The session is titled “An introduction to the DOTE software plus a survey of the diverse practices of doing transcription and analysis”:

“We will demonstrate DOTE in action, illustrate how it can be used in data sessions and answer questions. We also raise the methodological issue of how to capture the diversity of EMCA and video-based DA/DP researchers’ methods and practices, e.g. from collecting data, transcribing and building proto-analyses that end up in data sessions etc., and the practical issue of how ‘best practices’ can be supported technologically.”
