Data Session: 14th October, Jack Joyce & Xinxin Yang: Managing Patient Resistance to a Smoking Reduction Intervention

Session details: The data were collected as part of the MaSC clinical trial offering participants an e-cigarette after they had refused smoking cessation support/advice. The trial took place in GP annual review consultations for people living with a chronic condition and/or severe mental illness.

Our focus will be on sequences in which the offer of an e-cigarette is met with non-acceptance, and how the clinician preserves the offer trajectory to ultimately solicit acceptance.
