Session details:

Oncology self-help groups are supportive associations based on the assumption that sharing oncological issues with someone who has been enduring a similar situation may benefit to the group members by helping them face the illness. In this session, we are going to present a recording of a self-help group meeting, whose members include both former and present oncology patients. We are interested in unveiling the verbal – and, if need be, also non-verbal – practices by means of which participants support each other.
