The data comes from the high-profile case of Sarah Everard, who went missing in London in 2021 triggering a large-scale search and investigation. Police narrowed their focus to a serving police officer, Wayne Couzens, whose movements and vehicle were linked to the incident. The focus of the data session is the urgent interview conducted with Wayne Couzens to seek information about Sarah’s whereabouts. In the extract, epistemological matters (who knows what) and institutional agendas (what is the purpose of the interview) come to the fore. The data session will consider these elements and other analytic foci that surface in our discussions.
